The Ring Doorbell Pro 2 is hardwired to a 16-24 VAC 10-40VA max, 60Hz. transformer. There is also a module that must be installed at the chimes location. This module provides connectivity across both wire leads, which provides power to the Doorbell Pro 2, and also charges the internal battery (not removable) of the Ring Doorbell Pro 2.
